ABOUT US

Waukesha Kennel Club, Inc. of Waukesha, Wisconsin is a non-profit, all-volunteer dog club founded in 1961 and to this day remains a group of dedicated dog breeders and exhibitors. Our members consist of breeders, exhibitors and AKC judges. Waukesha Kennel Club members participate on many levels in AKC events, such as conformation dog shows, obedience trials, agility trials, hunting tests and the many other breed performance tests offered to the dog fancy. We are proud of the many services we provide for the advancement of pure-bred dogs, not only in the Waukesha County community, but throughout the State of Wisconsin and elsewhere. These include:

WAUKESHA KENNEL CLUB CONFORMATION SHOWS

Waukesha Kennel Club, Inc. holds Back-To-Back All-Breed Dog Shows (Saturday and Sunday) with three Obedience and Rally Trials (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at the Waukesha County Exposition Center. This is preceded by the Combined Specialty Clubs of Greater Milwaukee on Friday. See SUMMER SHOWS page for details.

MEMBERSHIP & MONTHLY MEETINGS

The Waukesha Kennel Club, Inc. holds monthly meetings on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 P.M. The exceptions are the months of May, when we hold our annual Awards Banquet, and December, when we hold our annual Christmas Party. General meetings are held at the Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center, 360 Bluemound Road, Waukesha. Visitors are always welcome! Prospective members must attend at least two meetings and be endorsed by three members before submitting a membership application. We welcome new members but want to get to know you a little bit before you join the club. Come to meetings or our Conformation Training Classes and you will find that we are a friendly and welcoming bunch!

THE BARKLINE

Waukesha Kennel Club, Inc. publishes a monthly newsletter, The Barkline, sent to all members keeping them informed of WKC, AKC and Dog Federation of Wisconsin, Inc. activities and issues.

SEMINARS

Waukesha Kennel Club, Inc. sponsors, from time to time, educational seminars covering a range of subjects of interest to serious dog breeders and exhibitors. At our 2006 show we were pleased to present a reproductive seminar presented by Dr. Marty Greer, DVM.

The attached Scholarship file contains all the necessary information regarding the Waukesha Kennel Club Inc. Scholarship. It is an Adobe Acrobat 3 page file and one needs Acrobat Reader on one's computer to open the file. Waukesha Kennel Club, Inc.  has for many years made substantial donations to a variety of organizations involved with dogs: University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, K-9 Unit of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, Waukesha County Dog Exercise Area in Minooka Park, the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, Dog Federation of Wisconsin, Scholarship Fund of the Dog Writers Association of America, AKC Canine Health Foundation, Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Waukesha Search and Rescue Dogs, to name but a few.
